This year the Year 6 group travelled to Woodend Christian Camp for their camp. It was an action packed three days with a coastal walk, beach visit, aerojump, zip lining, climbing wall, go karting, archery, air rifles, team building and orienteering (we did manage to fit some free time and sleep in too!)
Thank you to all the parents who helped at camp - we couldn't have done it without you!! Thank you too to Woodend Christian Camp for letting us use your wonderful facility. You can read about our experiences on our blogs. While the Year 6s were on camp, the Year 5s worked with Mrs Moore and Mrs Maginness to learn about Kiwiana. They learnt about mapping, kiwiana objects and symbols and what made them a kiwi kid. On our blogs you can find examples of the work we did.
To welcome our new Principal Mr Tilby, we all took part in Allenton School's first powhiri. Molly and Jacob were part of the performance Kapa Haka group which was exciting to see. Thanks Ms Efford for the great photos.
We have started training for this year's cross country. Year 5 and 6 need to run 2km for the cross country. We are practicing using a 400m loop at school and each day we count up and add up our distance to see how far we have run altogether. We will map our progress each day on this map.
