What is a simile?

A sentence where you use as or like to describe something - Aadit
Comparing two different words that most of the time are completely different - Tsehai
You use as or like twice - Kezi

Examples
As fast as a lion - Bella
I was as cold as a freezer - Makenze
I was as slow as a snail - Tamara
I was as crazy as a chimpanzee - Samantha
I was as high as a skyscraper - Riley
I am as little as an ant - Aadit
I drink water like a cat - Samantha
The water was blue like the sky - Miss Lester
The sheep was fluffy like a cloud - Miss Lester

What is a metaphor?

Something to do with vocabulary - Aadit
Something to do with writing 
​Something that we use to describe - Hunter

We now know that metaphors are a describing sentence where something becomes something else.  A metaphor compares two things without using like or as.

Each day we have been practicing making and identifying metaphors using our Writing Metaphors Morning Activity.
