Another language we are learning is Spanish or Espanol. Each week we are learning in Espanol what we have learnt in Sign Language.
We are learning different languages in Room 2 to stretch our brains and make us think in different ways. Sign Language is one of New Zealand's three official languages. The New Zealand Sign Language Dictionary is a great resource for finding how to sign different words. There are pictures and videos showing you how to sign each word. When completing a recount you are writing about something that has already happened and you need to include information about who, what, when, when and why, connecting information with time connectives and writing in paragraphs. There are lots of different ways that you can plan for a recount - try some different ways below. Week 1 - April HolidaysWeek 2 - A Special Time with FriendsWeek 3 - Kiwiana or Camp recountWeek 4 - BiographyCreate a Google Doc or Google Slide in your teacher check folder with your ten questions. Now you have your questions you need to research information about your chosen person to answer your questions. You need to write your recount in a way that it can inform others about your chosen famous person. Again, you can make a Google Doc or a Google Slide. Below are some helping hand tips to help you.

Room 2, your task it to create a recount of your recent holidays. Use the Alphabet Key to help you with ideas and plan your writing. Create your recount in your Teacher Check folder so Mrs Corcoran can help you if you get stuck.
When your recount has been edited you can add your pin onto one of the maps below (find the map with your name on it) and write a brief description of your holiday - you can add an appropriate picture to your pin. We are so excited!!!!! Our parcel from Hamilton East School has arrived!!!! We've had lots of fun exploring where they are and were fascinated by the Mauri Stone - a few surprised faces when we held the stone.
